Homeschool Program Day

This event was created specifically for homeschooling families. The
Homeschool Program Day gives homeschooling families an opportunity to
participate in our guided programs 
without
having to worry about group minimum requirements, while still having the
flexibility to learn at their own pace that so many homeschoolers desire.
This event was first held in fall 2006 and has become more popular every
year! It typically takes place on either the last or second to last Monday
in September.
Families are invited to visit the Old Florida Museum for a semi-guided tour of all 4 of our program areas. Guests receive an information sheet to lead themselves through the museum at their own pace, learning about each time period as they go. Hands-on activities are available to try in each area. Costumed guides are stationed in each area to provide further information, answer questions, and demonstrate and supervise additional activities.
Reservations are required for Homeschool Program Day. Participants
under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Information on dates
and session times will typically become available about 8 weeks prior to the
event. 
Halloween Festival
Our first Halloween Festival, held in 2009, was such a success that we're adding it to our list of annual events! Old Florida Museum opens its doors to all brave enough to enter. Activities include spooky story telling from visitors from the past, costume contests, games, local arts and crafts vendors, prizes, and of course candy!
