Old Florida Museum is pleased to announce the Fall Home School Day Experience.

October 5th thru October 9th, 2020

This is an altered program for the Covid-19 situation

FACE MASK MUST BE WORN WHILE IN THE MUSEUM NO EXCEPTIONS

 

We are offering a full week of our Homeschool Day Experience due to an overwhelming request during this unusual time. We are offering four programs each day starting at 10:00am and ending at 2:00pm. Programs may include:

 Timucua Indian Program

 Spanish Program

 Dirt Detectives (Archaeology) Program

 Homestead Pioneer Program

 Ship & Sailor Program.

 

Your day starts at 9:30 for registration, first program begins at 10:00 and then onto the next program at 10:45. There will be a one hour break for lunch and will allow us to clean and disinfect during this period. After your 11:30-12:30 lunch break there will be the 3rd and 4th programs ending at your day at 2:00pm

IMPORTANT: We are only allowing up to 40 persons per day and they will be divided into two groups of 20.

There is also a minimum number of 15 persons per day. If this number is not meet on any one day that session will be cancelled. You will be notified and have the option of moving your day where available or getting a full refund.

We encourage you to preregister to avoid missing out on this experience. If any day is sold out tickets will not be available at he door.

PLEASE keep in mind as things change on a daily basis ours plans may as well. If you do make reservations we will keep you inform to any changes as they happen.

 

Registration starts at 9:30 and your first of four programs leave at 10:00 sharp. Each tour will be approximately 40 minutes. There is also a 60 minute lunch break so guests should plan to spend the day to visit the entire museum complex. This interactive experience is designed to expose students to daily living activities of the Timucua Indians, early Spanish settlers, exploration on the high seas and Florida Pioneer children, as well as the field of archaeology.

All guest entering the museum must purchase a ticket including students and adults.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The cost is $19.95 per person for ages three and up.

 

Costumed Guides will provide history and instruction in the use of tools and games for each historical time period.  Participants will also complete a take-home projects. Old Florida Museum includes a Timucuan Indian house, a Spanish house, a Florida Homestead Cracker house, 70 Spanish Caravel Sailing Ship replica and a mock archaeological dig, The day will start with tours at 9:30. During the 60 minute lunch period (11:30 to 12:30) you will have access to our outdoor open air picnic area. You may bring bagged lunches.

We also invite you to visit the Old Florida General Store, featuring many unusual and old-fashioned items.
